About
The Champneys name and spa luxury go together like warm robes and fluffy towels. But with its Alpine-chalet interiors, crackling fires and atmospheric lake-side setting, Forest Mere resort will surprise and delight even longtime fans of the brand. Squirrelled away in Hampshire, this country hideaway will take care of you from the moment you check-in until it’s time to hang up your dressing gown. If only real life was this easy!
Sweep up the driveway for your first glimpse of your pampering playground for the day (or longer, if you’re lucky). Forest Mere’s secluded setting will help your shoulders drop before you’ve even walked through the door. A former hunting lodge, the grand building perches above a glistening lake framed by 160 acres of enchanting woodland.
With 88 spacious rooms, four shepherd’s huts, two restaurants and one very swish lobby, you’ll be able to switch off in complete luxury. But the main attraction is Forest Mere’s vast spa, ingeniously integrated into the sprawling, historic estate so that everything is conveniently located under one roof.
Hop between the large, sparkling pool and jacuzzi, before a spot of stargazing in the outdoor thermal suite. But Forest Mere's facilities go far beyond the traditional. They invite you on a thermal journey that takes you from calming quartz bed to laconium, experience showers to the sub-zero temperatures of the snow room.
Rituals in the 43 treatment rooms are a fusion of the traditional, holistic and cutting-edge - something that Champneys does best. They’re ahead of the curve when it comes to your fitness as well, with two studios, a buzzing schedule of activities and a newly-refurbished gym, plus bikes to hire, resort walks to amble and tennis courts for a fun game of doubles.
You’ll find it hard to believe that this wellness wonderland is just a 10-minute drive from the Hampshire village of Liphook. If you do venture out, the pretty town of Haslemere is nearby, with small independent shops, larger chains and a variety of places to eat and drink. You’re right on the edge of the South Downs National Park, a beautiful landscape ideal for longer hikes. In the mood for some nostalgia? Hollycombe Steam in the Country has a huge collection of steam-powered vehicles, or you can go on a treetop adventure at Go Ape Alice Holt.
But chances are you won’t want to leave Forest Mere until they prise you away from your heated water bed. Whether you're seeking a spa day or a longer retreat, Forest Mere promises to restore your inner peace amidst its tranquil lake and forest surroundings, ensuring you check-out feeling refreshed, revitalised and in peak form.

Everyone needs the opportunity to switch off and let other people take care of them for a bit - and Champneys Forest Mere are experts in this field. With spa facilities that are second to none, you’ll feel totally looked after, with nothing to worry about other than what delightful thermal experience or treatment you’ll have next.
And if you love the kind of health resort where you’d be the odd one out if you were fully dressed, you’ve found your happy place! At this destination spa and wellness retreat everyone is here for the spa experience. At this all-robed affair, the only time you need to get dressed is for dinner.
Swim in the light-flooded indoor swimming pool, before going on the poolside thermal journey. There’s a laconium, sauna, sub-zero snow room and experience showers, with a large jacuzzi at the centre. The cosy wood panelling and low ceilings make you feel you’re tucked away in a ski chalet in the mountains.
Drift outdoors to the outdoor hydropool and relaxation area, or just find a cosy nook to curl up in with a book. Take your pick from heated water beds, relaxation pods, bean bags or swinging chairs.
When it’s time for a treatment, there’s an encyclopaedia of rituals to try, from Champneys Signature facials and massages to something that’s just a bit different from the norm. Embrace your spiritual side with Psychic Healing or Angel Card readings, or try Crystal Reiki - your chakras will never have felt so balanced!

Guests rave about the food on offer at Champneys Forest Mere, with good reason. Beautifully presented and delicious, it’s also so healthy and nutritious you can enjoy it guilt-free, with no sense of deprivation.
Here, eating is all about real food plus the feel-good factor. It’s a far cry from the health farm stereotype where you escape to the local shop to stock up on cake to get you through the day!
Blending healthy food with a dash of decadence, meals here are an integral part of your wellness journey. Chef-prepared, they’re all made using fresh locally sourced ingredients, often grown in their own vegetable gardens.
You’ll eat in one of two elegant spa restaurants, with clever design touches that pay homage to Ken Wood (the founder of Forest Mere and inventor of the Kenwood food mixer),like a silver spoon wall feature and a chandelier made of golden whisks.
Looking for a lighter bite? The lakeside spa café offers a serene setting for smoothies, salads, and sandwiches, with a spacious terrace and pristine garden views.
If you’re a solo spa-goer, you don’t have to eat alone (unless you want to, of course!). Back at the main restaurant, booking a spot at the Champneys Table lets you sip, sup and socialise with your fellow wellness-seekers, and it’s available at all main meals.
