About
Did someone say spa-cation? A day at Eastwell Manor will leave you feeling as refreshed and well-rested as a two-week holiday somewhere sandy. Champneys first foray into the luxury hotel world, this elegant country manor at the foot of the North Downs will wow you with its landscaped gardens, fabulous views and, of course, a certain multi-million-pound spa.
Founded in 1925, Champneys is the UK’s original health spa brand, so you can relax before you even arrive, knowing your wellness is in good hands. But Eastwell Manor’s history goes back further still, with the original house built for Sir Thomas Moyle between 1540 and 1550. Rebuilt in 1926 after a fire, but still in a Neo-Elizabethan-style, it retains its original stone doorways, flagstone flooring and one gorgeously grand, carved staircase.
History, however, does not equate to stuffiness here. While the old-world charm of Eastwell remains (think croquet lawns, tennis courts and a fabulously retro outdoor swimming pool), it’s combined with modern design and a convivial vibe - expect to hear clinking Champagne glasses and tinkling laughter at every turn. But the most luxurious facilities of all can be found outside the hotel, in its former Old Pavillion.
This lovingly refurbished space has been transformed into the magnificent Champneys spa, the gleaming hub of the hotel. Its focal point is the 20-metre indoor pool flanked by some super comfy day beds. But there are also thermal experiences, a spa restaurant and 20 treatment rooms, plus a super swish gym and fitness studio. If that sounds a bit energetic, you’re free to curl up in the relaxation room and admire the views of the North Downs.
With 62 acres of private grounds to stroll around, Eastwell Manor feels so delightfully rural it’s hard to believe you’re just a 15-minute drive from Ashford International, and under an hour away from London by train. Just outside Eastwell Manor’s gates the Garden of England is yours to explore, so why not try some oyster fishing (and eating) in Whitstable, visit The Big Cat Sanctuary or snap up some bargains at Ashford Designer Outlet?
But chances are you won’t want to stray too far from all that’s on offer at Eastwell Manor. Striking the perfect balance between healthy and indulgent, a spa day here isn’t about self-denial. It’s the most nurturing, pampering me-time you’ll ever experience. Warning - you may never want to leave.

The Spa & Wellness at Champneys Eastwell Manor Spa Resort
If you think you’ve seen one spa you’ve seen them all, you clearly haven’t stepped a Champneys-branded flip flop inside the sequestered space that is the spa at Eastwell Manor. More than just a spa, it’s an adult-only playground designed exclusively for escapism.
Robe up, breathe deeply and take time to decompress before your journey to bliss begins. Designed to stimulate all your senses, this heavenly cocoon features cosy relaxation areas, a show stopping swimming pool, high-tech thermal experiences and a mani-pedi lounge.
Pull up a comfy bed designed for poolside lounging. Great for couples or small groups, clever curtains mean that you can section off a space for privacy. Or retreat to the relaxation room with its fabulous views out over the North Downs.
With a carefully curated treatment menu filled with Champneys and Elemis massages, facials and body-beautifying rituals, this is an uplifting pampering experience like no other. Driven by the simple belief that lasting beauty is more than just skin deep, this is what Champney does best - so allow yourself to lay back and switch off, knowing you’re in good hands.
But that’s only the start! Choose from a wide range of indoor classes, such as Pilates, aqua aerobics, yoga and circuit training. You can also enjoy the great outdoors, with organised walks and more challenging hikes. We would recommend checking ahead of booking to make sure you understand what’s included with your chosen package.
Overall, Eastwell Manor is focussed on inclusive wellness. So, whatever your health, fitness and beauty needs, you can find what you need amid the relaxed splendour of this magnificent hotel and spa.
The Gym & Fitness at Champneys Eastwell Manor Spa Resort
Arrive tired, leave feeling the best version of yourself with all the fitness-fostering activities on offer at Eastwell Manor. Its 3,000 square foot gym is a true wellness haven, featuring sleek and stylish equipment, along with a fitness studio dedicated to strengthening, stretching and challenging you from top to toe.
Inclusive and friendly, there are so many classes on offer here (up to 15 per day). Work up a sweat in Champ Ride, the brand’s take on spinning, get bendy with Hatha yoga or swing those kettlebells for top-to-toe toning. Prefer your workouts of the watery kind? Head to the pool for aqua aerobics - you’ll have so much fun, you’ll forget you’re out of breath!
Working out in the fresh air is also firmly encouraged here. Stroll, power walk or jog around the many scenic nature trails in the beautiful grounds, but there’s no need to go it alone. Champneys offers guided gratitude walks and countryside hikes to help you reconnect with nature - and yourself.
Feeling sporty? Socialise with friends over a fun game of doubles at the all-weather tennis courts, or try a spot of croquet, petanque or golf. If that’s not enough to tire you out, you’ll also find a Padel court, outdoor badminton and table tennis.
Restaurants & Food at Champneys Eastwell Manor Spa Resort
Forget nibbling on lettuce leaves. The approach at Eastwell Manor is all about balance, with a little bit of luxury thrown in. In fact if you were hoping to lose a few pounds, you’ll need to bring your willpower - this is no detox retreat!
Here on a spa package that includes healthy snacks and a nutritious lunch? You’ll eat at the spa restaurant in the comfort of your snuggly robe. But with so much on offer, you may just decide to de-robe, glam up and linger long into the evening, too. Just remember to book in advance!
Brasserie at the Manor
Dine in style while you drink in some beautiful views over Eastwell Manor’s gardens at the Brasserie. A gourmet destination in its own right, you won’t just find hotel residents here, because locals also flock to soak up the atmosphere. Sit by the stone fireplace and tuck into scallops, venison loin or a juicy ribeye steak cooked just how you like it (delectable plant-based alternatives are also available!). And the best thing? The Brasserie uses only the best local produce sourced from the idyllic Kent countryside.
Spa Restaurant
When you come for a Champneys Spa Day, you’ll eat your guilt-free-yet-delicious lunch right here in the spa, from the comfort of your snuggly robe. Recently renovated, Champneys own chefs and nutritionists have created a wholesome selection of dishes like salads, juices and fish, all firmly aligned with the brand’s principles of moderation, balance and variety.
The Manor Bar
Time for an aperitif? Get comfy in the Manor Bar which provides a cosy setting for those all-important post-massage G and Ts. Fancy trying something new? Then why not experiment with one of the bar’s expertly created cocktails? The bar is also the perfect spot to take in the dreamy North Downs views.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a swimming pool at Eastwell Manor?
There are two! The 20m heated outdoor pool nestles in the Eastwell Manor’s garden, a stone’s throw from the petanque court. Perfect for sunny days, it oozes old-world glamour. There’s even a cute bar in a retro van so you don’t have to stray too far from your lounger to get refreshments. The outdoor pool is weather dependent and only open during the summer months. Children are welcome too, at designated swimming times in the morning and afternoon.
But the star of the show is the gleaming 20m indoor pool in the haven of tranquillity that is the spa. Beautifully lit, it features loungers artfully contained within curtained areas so you don’t ever have to get too up-close and personal with the person next to you.
Is there accommodation at Eastwell Manor?
Tempted to turn a spa day into a spa stay? You’re in luck. Eastwell Manor has 22 traditionally-styled rooms and suites in the original Manor House, some with grand four-poster beds and panoramic garden views.
Here on a spa break? You’ll drift off to sleep in one of 39 sleek and modern mews rooms and suites in what used to be the Victorian stables. Some have private terraces and living areas, making them perfect for groups of friends.
What time is check-in and check-out at Eastwell Manor?
Champneys Spa Days at Eastwell Manor start at 9am and end at 6pm, but do check your booking confirmation for full details. For overnight stays at Eastwell Manor, check-in is from 3pm, while departure time is at 11am.
Is Eastwell Manor accessible?
It is. There is a purpose-built Mews Cottage for disabled guests, along with accessible toilets in the Manor House.
Is Eastwell Manor a Champneys’ resort?
No, it’s one of Champneys’ luxury spa hotels. Champneys has four resorts - Tring, Forest Mere, Henlow and Springs. These are health spas with a laser focus on your health and wellbeing.
Its two luxury spa hotels, Eastwell Manor and Mottram Hall, feature all the mod cons you’d expect from a destination hotel (think elegant interiors, gourmet dining and afternoon tea) along with a Champneys spa.
Where is Eastwell Manor located?
You’ll find it in Kent, a 15-minute drive from Ashford International Station. Set within secluded and beautifully manicured grounds, it offers far-reaching views of the rural North Downs.
Close to the village of Boughton Lees, it's on the edge of Eastwell Park, a large area of parkland and country estate that was once owned by the Earls of Winchilsea. It’s also a 10-minute drive to Wye village, close to the Wye Downs, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
What should I bring for a Champneys spa day at Eastwell Manor?
Very little, as you’ll be spending most of your day swanning around in your complimentary towelling robe and flip-flops! You’ll obviously need swimwear to wear in the pool and thermal facilities. But it's a good idea to bring some spare swimwear or dry underwear to keep you feeling comfortable when you go for lunch, or if you’re planning on booking into a treatment.
You’ll also need activewear and trainers if you’re going to use the gym or have a class, and a spare pair for outdoors if you fancy a stroll around the grounds. And, if you’re thinking about staying for dinner, you’ll need something smart/casual to wear. Just remember to reserve your table in advance.
Do I get to keep the flip flops provided at Eastwell Manor?
Yes you do! Flip flops are provided to all guests and are yours to keep. They’re also anti-slip tested so they’re perfect for the spa and poolside.
Who owns Eastwell Manor and what is its history?
Champneys has owned the property since 2017. Since then the group has renovated the bedrooms and created that swish new spa. The original Eastwell Manor, built in the 18th century, was the home of Prince Alfred from 1874 to 1893, during which time his mother, Queen Victoria, was a regular visitor. It was destroyed by fire in the 1920s but rebuilt in the same style, retaining some of its original features.
Is Eastwell Manor family-friendly?
Unlike Champneys Resorts which are strictly for over 16s only, Eastwell Manor is a Champneys hotel and as such it does welcome children. In fact your spa-loving mini-me’s aged 14 to 16 can even have a treatment, as long as you go with them to the treatment rooms (no electrical treatments or intimate waxing).
Here with the family? The Earl of Northumberland room includes bunk beds, and you’ll also find child-sized meals on offer in the hotel’s restaurant. Children aged three and over can splash about in the outdoor pool during the summer months between 8.30 and 10am and 4.30pm and 6pm, but they’re not allowed in the indoor pool.
Is Eastwell Manor pet-friendly?
Start packing their little doggy suitcase! Pampered pooches can stay in Eastwell Manor’s Mews Cottage accommodation. They are not allowed to set a paw into the Manor House itself, or the spa, however.
Does Eastwell Manor have a golf course?
Yes it has a nine-hole golf course in its 62 acres of gardens and grounds, along with a resident falconer, garden games like pitch and putt, table tennis, tennis, pétanque and croquet.
