Hit the weights or burn calories with cardio. But if you prefer to work out with friends, the fitness studio hosts regular classes, from high-energy aerobics and Spin to yoga and pilates.

Outdoor fitness fanatics will be in heaven. Take a power-walk around the 30 acres of grounds. The only thing to break your stride will be stopping to say hello to the pretty Highland cows. Or venture further afield to try riding, mountain-biking, skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, surfing and kiteboarding. In Aberdeenshire, you’re spoilt for choice!

Blairs Restaurant

Like to sample local delicacies wherever you go? You’ll go on a culinary journey through Scotland’s larder at Blairs. Try Aberdeenshire lamb rump, Scottish aged rump steaks and a selection of local cheeses as you dine à la carte in this elegant space.

Soapies Brasserie

Laid-back dining and an Ardoe signature cocktail in front of a roaring log fire? Yes please! Named after Alexander ‘Soapy’ Ogston, the Aberdeen soap merchant who built the house, Soapies features comfort classics like mac ‘n’ cheese, burgers and sandwiches.  

Whisky Bar

After a decadent dinner, there’s nothing nicer than a night cap. And if you’re in the mood for a wee dram, you’ll find 80 varieties of whisky to choose from in the Whisky Bar. 

Drawing Room

With its squashy sofas and twinkling chandeliers, the Drawing Room makes an elegant setting for hearty breakfasts, lunch or afternoon tea.

Yes there is, so bring your cossie! At 18m in length, the indoor swimming pool is perfect for laps, plus there’s a Jacuzzi, a rock sauna and a steam room to bask in after your swim. 

Of course! Ardoe House’s 120 sumptuous bedrooms were all magnificently refurbished in 2019. Today you’ll find Classic and Privilege contemporary rooms in the modern wing and indulgent Feature rooms and suites in the mansion house.

You’ll find it in Aberdeenshire, just three miles south-west of Aberdeen, one of Scotland's most vibrant cities. With great shopping and granite landmarks like the Town House, you won’t be stuck for things to do. Take a stroll along the Esplanade then visit the Maritime Museum and the Arts Centre.

Here on an overnight stay? Lucky you! Check-in to the hotel is at 3pm and check-out is at 11am. For spa days, arrival times vary, so please check your booking confirmation.

Yes, it is. Although children under the age of 16 can’t use the thermal suite they can splash in the pool. Kids and teens aged eight and over can even have a luxurious treatment at the spa thanks to mini massages and facials designed for sensitive skin. At the hotel, children’s menus feature home-cooked family favourites (there’s even a kids’ afternoon tea), while seven family rooms are on hand whenever it’s time for their bedtime stories.

Ardoe House has some accessible features, such as three adapted bedrooms, lifts and ramps. However the spa and leisure facilities aren’t currently wheelchair-accessible.

Good news for dog-lovers! Waggy tails are welcome at Ardoe House. There are five dog-friendly rooms with easy access to the grounds. You’re allowed to bring a maximum of two dogs per room, with a charge of £15 per dog, per stay.

No it doesn’t, but golf lovers can swing by Paul Lawrie Golf Course. It’s just five minutes away, so it’s perfect for those who love to combine relaxing spa breaks with a round of golf. Or head to nearby Deeside Golf Club. Considered one of the best inland courses in Scotland, ithosts a number of prestigious events throughout the year.
