About
Got a thing for Welsh spa hotels with a fabulous location, lavish leisure and decadent dining? We’ve got a feeling you’re going to like it at Best Western Premier Heronston Hotel & Spa. Situated slap-bang between capital city Cardiff and the coastal cool of Swansea, it has a semi-rural setting. But the centre of Bridgend is only a mile from the hotel’s front door.
A familiar sight to those driving to the blissful beaches of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, the hotel has had a huge revamp in recent years. Step inside and the decor is chic, stylish and super-Instagrammable. But it’s not just the fresh and bright reception that’s had a glow-up. With 75 beautifully refurbished bedrooms to check into, you’ll feel relaxed before you’ve even set foot in the spa!
But while your bed feels so inviting, chances are you won’t want to linger in your room for too long. Not when there’s the mood-lighting and curved lines of the indoor swimming pool waiting for you! You’ll be tempted to spend all your time at the Heronston’s Leisure Club, unwinding with a Schmoo ritual or revelling in the warmth of the sauna and steam room. Like to crunch before brunch? There’s even a well-equipped gym.
If you do decide to leave the comfort of your fluffy robe, adventure awaits. A short drive takes you to the sandy beaches in Porthcawl - or the bright lights of Cardiff and Swansea. Shop for bargains at Bridgend’s McArthurGlen Designer Outlet or discover the great outdoors at Bryngarw Country Park. History lover? Nearby Coity Castle is a Norman stronghold rebuilt in the 14th century.
There’s nothing like a day of sightseeing and shopping to put you in the mood for drinks and dinner. So settle in for a tipple beside the fire at Ewennys Bar before heading to dine at the elegant Crane Restaurant. Here you’ll find Welsh cuisine at its finest, lovingly prepared by Heronston’s in-house chefs.
