Take your pick from single-station weights machines, or go old-school with dumbbells. Power through some cardio on one of the many treadmills, cross trainers, stationary bikes or rowing machines available. And do it all in the capable hands of a team of fully qualified fitness professionals who are happy to offer advice should you need it. 

Need some extra motivation? Sign up for group class. As well as the fantastic gym and pool facilities, Crewe Hall also houses an aerobic studio which offers a range of exciting classes. 

But if you prefer your exercise in the fresh air, you’re spoilt for choice. Hit the outdoor tennis courts for a fun game with friends, or just stroll, jog or power walk through the eight acres of grounds.

The Brasserie Bar & Restaurant

Found in the modern West Wing extension, the Brasserie offers healthy (and not so healthy) breakfast options, delectable steak and fish dinners and sparkling Sunday lunches prepared by a talented head chef. Dine à la carte, in suitably swish surroundings, on a menu of British and European-inspired dishes full of locally sourced ingredients.

Sheridan Lounge

If you fancy a scone alongside your self-care, afternoon tea is served amid the elegant oak carvings of the Sheridan Lounge. Spoil yourself with delicate finger sandwiches, tempting cakes and, of course, freshly baked scones served with clotted cream and a dollop of jam.

Is it really a spa day without the chance to dip your toe in some tranquil water? Luckily, there’s an idyllic 18m indoor pool in Crewe Hall’s modern health club, found in the West Wing - a 21st Century addition to the historic hotel. Alongside the atmospherically-lit azure rectangle you’ll find a thermal suite that includes a sauna, steam room, spa bath and heated stone loungers.

There is. With 117 rooms in total at Crewe Hall, you’ll be spoilt for choice. But will you go for a historic suite or for something more contemporary? 

The 117 bedrooms are split between 26 feature rooms and suites in the Old House - some of these feature four-poster beds and marble bathrooms. Or you could choose a Classic room - you’ll find these among the 91 contemporary bedrooms in the West Wing. They’re closer to the spa.

Yes, it does! The hotel has seven Double Doubles, so you can all get a great night’s sleep in the lap of luxury. With one double and one king-sized bed, Double Doubles are spacious enough to let four people spread out. The king-sized bed can even unzip to become a twin – you just need to ask!

Perfect for glamorous getaways with family and friends, these super-sized rooms can be found in the modern wing of the hotel. They also feature air-conditioning, larger bathrooms and complimentary nice little extras, like bottled water and luxurious toiletries.

Yes it is, with six purpose-built accessible bedrooms. Over at the ground-floor leisure club you’ll find a designated accessible toilet and changing area, as well as a wheel-in shower with a drop-down seat and grab rails. There’s level access to the poolside, with steps and a handrail leading into the shallow end of the pool.

Staying overnight? Room check-in is from 3pm and you’ll need to check out by 11am. For spa days, arrival times are generally from 10am, but do check your booking confirmation for full details.

You’ll find Crewe Hall in the heart of Cheshire, just 10 mins away from the centre of Crewe. It’s location is ideal for days spent window shopping and café hopping in Crewe itself, but it’s also well-placed for visits to Alton Towers, Chester Zoo and Blue Planet Aquarium.

Children get a warm welcome at Crewe Hall, with kids’ menus and plenty of space for them to let off steam. Interconnecting rooms were made for families with teens, while generously-sized family rooms offer cots for tots and Z-beds for kids. 

While under 16s can’t use the gym or thermal facilities, little ones can splash in the pool every weekday from 9.30am to 11.30am and 3.30pm and 6.30pm (9am to 11am and 3pm to 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays). 

If the pool’s not enough to keep them busy, the hotel puts you in pole position for local attractions such as Chester Zoo, Alton Towers and Gulliver's World.

You don't need to leave your dog at home when you’re staying overnight at the fabulously pet-friendly Crewe Hall. Pampered pooches can stay in the hotel for £25 per night and are free to curl up by your side at the hotel’s indoor and outdoor dog-friendly dining spaces. When it’s time for walkies you can stroll the grounds, or let them run free with some off-lead fun in the hotel’s events field.

No, there’s no golf course on-site, but there are two stunning courses nearby, both under three miles away. Wychwood Park is an 18-hole, European PGA tour-standard course, while Crewe Park has 18 holes set in 150 acres of rolling Cheshire countryside.
