The Oaks Bar & Lounge 

Craving something more casual? The Oaks Bar & Lounge has you covered. Whether it’s a pre-spa cappuccino, a laid-back lunch, or an afternoon sweet treat, it delivers both comfort and flavour. With choices like chipotle mac and cheese, hearty burgers, or loaded nachos to savour, it’s perfect for sharing - or snaffling solo.

It sure does. Found in the swish, modern Health Club, the heated indoor pool has 13 tranquil metres, perfect for some energetic breaststroke or a leisurely dip. After your swim you can soak in the whirlpool, then unwind in the sauna or steam room. Or just pull up a lounger and read your book. With floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with natural light, it makes a lovely space to curl up in.

You’ll need to bring your swimwear for the fabulous spa facilities, and your activewear if you fancy a workout in the well-equipped gym. Don’t forget your book or a magazine for all that lounging around you’ll be doing. And, if you’re planning on dinner in The Lawrence restaurant, you might be more comfortable in something smart/casual.

Here with a group and don’t want to be parted? Book a double-double and you can have a pampering pyjama party back in your room. Called Deluxe King Guest Rooms, there’s room for four people, and the additional cost can be added onto the per-person rate. There’s even a separate bath and shower in the en-suite.

You’ll find Delta by Marriott Hotel Nottingham Belfry four miles north-west of Nottingham city centre, on the 120-acre Nottingham Business Park. Beautifully landscaped, the business park has plenty of green space. So take time out to relax in the grounds, or go for a wander through the mature parkland and orchards. There’s plenty to do nearby, too. Wollaton Hall, with its superb gardens, lake, deer park and not one but two on-site museums, is just over three miles away.

Get ready to blow up those armbands! While the smallest members of your crew have to be 16 or over to use the thermal facilities or gym, kids are welcome to splash in the pool. Your little dippers can swim between 10.30am to 6.30pm during the week, (except on Wednesdays when it’s 11.30am) and between 10am and 6pm on weekdays. It’s a maximum of two children per adult. 

Head out into Nottingham where there’s lots of family-friendly activities to enjoy. Your little outlaws will love the National Justice Museum, where costumed actors bring the courtroom and ancient prison cells to life. 

After a day of exploring, head back to Delta by Marriott Hotel Nottingham Belfry for delicious children’s meals and a great night’s sleep in Family Deluxe Suites. These feature one king and one sofa bed in a separate lounge, so the grown-ups can watch TV without disturbing any sleepy heads.

Yes it is. There’s designated parking for blue-badge holders, and six purpose-built disabled rooms. Two have bathrooms with walk-in showers. The others have wheel-in showers, but they all feature grab rails and emergency cords. At the spa you’ll find an accessible toilet and changing area, along with a wheel-in shower room with drop-down seat. A member of staff can assist you with access to the swimming pool. 

Canine pals are welcome at the dog-friendly Delta by Marriott Hotel Nottingham Belfry. Up to two dogs can join you in pet-friendly Standard rooms for £50 per stay. Your dog has to weigh less than 60kg - that’s about the size of a Saint Bernard. 

Sorry! There’s no golf course on-site, but it’s only a quick drive if you want to tee off! Pack your clubs in the car and swing by Wollaton Park Golf Club, just over three miles away. This scenic course offers a challenging layout and is set within the beautiful surroundings of Wollaton Park, the 500-acre park with its Elizabethan country house, formal gardens, lake and cafés.
