Eden Spa at The Collingwood Hotel

There might not be a gym at Hotel Collingwood, but that doesn’t mean you won’t be getting fit! Bournemouth beach is on the hotel’s doorstep and offers seven miles of golden sand to jog along each day - perfect for living out your Baywatch fantasies. 

There’s even an outdoor gym situated between Bournemouth and Boscombe piers. Free to use, it has a dip bench, pull-up bars and a rope climber to work up a sweat with.

Adventurous types will love the sheer amount of watersports on offer. You can canoe or kayak, sail, surf or windsurf or test your core strength with a spot of stand-up paddleboarding. Or go for something more adrenaline fuelled like wakeboarding, scuba diving or kitesurfing.

The Gold Room

The best place to start and end your day? The glittering Gold Room. The shimmering decor makes every breakfast and dinner a thing of beauty. The emphasis here is on local produce, and meals that showcase the best of Dorset’s bounty. Wake up to handmade sausages and eggs freshly laid by local  hens. Get glammed up for dinner fresh from the sea, the farm or the field. Enjoy the best bites and delicious drinks as you relax after your spa day.

The Bubble Lounge

Love cocktails, a glass of bubbles, or both? Kick back and relax in the Bubble Lounge. Sink into a squishy chair and tuck into a toastie, ploughman’s or a spot of pub grub. Or come and enjoy an evening drink in a relaxing and friendly atmosphere.

The Tea Lounge

Afternoon tea is served in the elegant Tea Lounge. Curl up by the lovely Victorian fireplace and enjoy all the trimmings. There’s unlimited tea and coffee, plus bubbles, cocktails and mocktails to get the gossip flowing.

Yes there is, and it’s been beautifully refurbished. The 5m fully heated indoor swimming pool has a cascading water curtain, and great views onto the hotel’s Secret Garden. You can admire the 200-year-old olive tree as you swim! You’ll also find a hydrotherapy pool, sauna and rainfall showers.

For residential stays, check-in time is from 3pm. Then, on your day of departure, your room must be vacated by 11am. For spa days, arrival times vary.

Yes it is. There are five accessible guest rooms with handrails, pull cords and en-suite bathrooms with walk-in showers. You’ll also find wheelchair access at the Eden Spa.

There are 53 rooms at the hotel, and some let you catch glimpses of the sea. Wake up in Cosy doubles and twins, upgrade to a Signature or make your spa break special with a super-spacious Signature Extra. All rooms are beautifully decorated with comfy beds for a great night’s sleep.

The hotel is a Victorian building once owned by Sir Dan Godfrey, the founder of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, some 125 years ago. These days, what sets the Hotel Collingwood apart is that it’s family-owned and run. Michelle and Eytan Krips bought the hotel in 2016. Since then, they’ve upgraded the facilities and put Dorset ingredients and drinks on the menu, to give guests a real local flavour. 

The hotel is a four-minute walk from the beach. It’s a five-minute walk from Bournemouth Pier and Seafront and just 400 yards from Bournemouth International Centre (BIC).

The Hotel Collingwood was made with families in mind - and its location close to all of Bournemouth’s attractions means your little VIPs will have a fabulous time while they’re here. There are kids’ menus, a swimming pool and even a games room, plus you’ll find live entertainment most evenings. And with six family rooms plus warm cookies and milk at bedtime, they’ve really thought of everything!

Good news for your furry friends. This family-run hotel welcomes well-behaved dogs. A maximum of two small or medium-sized dogs per can stay for £15 per dog, per night. Pet-friendly rooms feature dog bowls, treats and walk-in showers perfect for muddy paws. 

You’ll get a welcome pack with a handy beach guide for scenic walkies. They can curl up next to you in the Tea Lounge, Bubble Lounge or Secret Garden, where there’s even a ‘Doggy Bites’ menu!

There isn’t, but there is one a short drive away. The Club at Meyrick Park is an 18-hole golf course set in 120 acres of scenic parkland. But if you’re just looking for a fun activity to do with friends, you’re spoilt for choice - this is Bournemouth, after all! Try mini golf in Bournemouth Gardens or along the seafront. Hit the pier for retro fun or try kayaking or paddle-boarding on the beach.
