The Helmsley Discovery Trail, which is just over a mile long, shows off all the main sights including the bustling Market Place, the Castle, Walled Garden and the charming Borough Beck running beside Castlegate.

Yes it does. The multi-award-winning Feversham Arms has 33 rooms, including 22 suites, all individually designed so that no two look the same. Luxuriously uncluttered, yet smart and elegant, some are in the Grade II-listed area of the hotel. Spa Suites are more lavish, with vintage wallpapers and balconies, while Poolside Suites have patios with fabulous views over the pool. You’ll feel like you’re in a resort abroad!

Here for a day package at Verbena Spa? Lucky you! Arrival times are generally 10am (or 5pm for twilight spa experiences), but it’s best to check your booking confirmation as arrival times vary. For overnight stays at the Feversham Arms, check-in time is from 3pm and check-out time is by 11am.

Planning on bringing the crew? While children under 16 can’t use the Verbena heat experiences or jacuzzi, they can splash in the pool. Suites have sofa-beds or extra beds , while two rooms have an additional bedroom or mezzanine sleeping area. Children’s menus are on offer, but younger children are encouraged to dine before 8pm.

Yes it is. There are eight rooms on the ground-floor, three of which are wheelchair-accessible (although the bathrooms are not fully adapted) and there is a lift.

Great news for dog-lovers! The Feversham Arms is a dog-friendly hotel. For £15 per dog, per night, a maximum of two pampered pooches can stay with you in your room, booked in advance, in dog-friendly rooms. They need to be kept on their leads in public areas and you are allowed to stay in the room without you while you’re in Verbena Spa.  

While there isn’t a golf course on-site, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t pack your clubs. Kirbymoorside Golf Club is just over six miles away, and this spectacular 18-hole course is right on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Expect beautiful views, whatever time of year you play a round.
