With a relaxed ambience and all-day eating, you can sink into a squishy sofa and tuck into some comfort food, a coffee or a cocktail. Or head out onto the canopied terrace and enjoy some tasty treats al fresco. Don’t worry - there are cosy heaters if the weather’s not playing ball.

For tender cuts of traditionally reared, grass-fed beef, step next door to the lively Long Bar & Grill. Ask for the cut of the day and watch chefs fire it up in the open kitchen. Or just sit up at the bar and have a signature cocktail. At 80-feet in length, there’s plenty of room!

It has a large indoor hydrotherapy pool and plunge pool, plus a super-glamorous outdoor heated relax pool with water jets and submerged seats. None are exactly long enough if you were hoping to perfect your backstroke. But they are a fantastic spot in which to unwind and relax tired muscles. And the outdoor poolside loungers make an excellent spot if you wanted to curl up with your book - and a glass of fizz.

Yes it is. There are ground-level entrances and lifts throughout. Eight Deluxe rooms are accessible with king-size beds, working desks, high-back armchairs, and wet-style bathrooms.

Planning on bringing the crew? Children under 18 can’t use the spa or gym, and there are no family rooms at the hotel. However there are some connecting rooms that allow you to keep an eye on the little ones. A few rooms can accommodate an extra bed and the majority can fit a cot. Extra beds are only suitable for children up to 12 years old.

There’s plenty to keep them occupied - and many of Guildford’s best attractions can be enjoyed for free. Soak up the history at Guildford Museum or follow the industrial history trail to find the hidden ruins of Chilworth Gunpowder Mills.

While there isn’t a golf course on-site, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t pack your clubs. An eight-minute drive takes you to Guildford Golf Club, an 18-hole course with views of the Cathedral.
