About
Planning a Surrey spa day? Sounds ideal. Offering the authentic beauty of the English countryside, yet just 30 minutes from London, this Home County hotspot boasts rural pubs and rolling hills. And right at the cobbled heart of Surrey’s prettiest town lies the Harbour Hotel Guildford. With its light-drenched atrium and funky decor, it’s one of Guildford’s buzziest hot spots. But because it’s also home to a swish HarSPA, rest and relaxation are there whenever you want them.
In a quiet location at the top of Guildford’s cobbled High Street, this ultra-modern hotel is close to everything that the town has to offer. Fantastic retail therapy at the Friary Centre, White Lion Walk and Tunsgate Quarter are only a 10-minute walk away. The spectacular Guildford Cathedral is always worth a visit, and the views from the castle’s tower are dramatic. Loseley Park is a stately home that’s a magnet for history buffs, and there are family days out within easy reach at both Thorpe Park and Chessington World of Adventures.
Take a break from the shopping and sightseeing at HarSPA. This top-tier luxury spa boasts seven treatment rooms, plus a hydrotherapy pool, plunge pool, stone oven sauna, mud rasul and an aromatic crystal steam room. But nothing beats the super-chic outdoor pool, complete with submerged seating, stress-relieving water jets and comfy loungers for a glass of fizz in the sunshine.
Here on an overnight stay? Pack your gym kit - and your dancing shoes! Not only is there a state-of-the-art, two-storey gym, the lively Long Bar & Grill hums with live music, DJs and dancing at weekends. The HarBAR makes a relaxed spot for a post-massage cocktail. Then, when it’s time to call it a night, you can drift off to one of the hotel’s 183 luxurious bedrooms, complete with black-out blinds for an uninterrupted night’s sleep.

The Spa & Wellness at Guildford Harbour Hotel & Spa
Love a spot of luxury lounging? The HarSPA at the Harbour Hotel Guildford is the place to be. Slip into a snuggly robe and pick your spot! But will you chill out by the plunge pools, stretch out on the terrace with a glass of fizz, or just recline on one of the suspended daybeds inside?
Nurture your body with heat and water. Inhale the aromas of the crystal steam room or bask in the heat of the stone oven sauna. With a contemporary and sophisticated style, you can soak up the bubbles of the hydrotherapy pool, relax in the plunge pool or recline in the stress-relieving water jets of the outdoor pool.
Here for a treatment? Lucky you. Therapists with knot-untying know-how use Templespa and Elemis Expert products in some truly outstanding, highly targeted rituals. But for something a little different, nothing beats the mud rasul. So much fun with friends or your partner, this DIY treatment sees you slathering on mineral-rich mud, then soaking in the heat of a steam chamber.
The Gym & Fitness at Guildford Harbour Hotel & Spa
You’re perfect, just as you are. But if you wanted to work on your fitness, there’s no need to leave your goals behind when you’re on a spa break to the Harbour Hotel Guildford. It has everything you need to help you work out, chill out and refresh your body and mind.
Work up an appetite for your afternoon tea at the state-of-the-art, two-storey gym, where cardio kit and weights let you burn calories, tone up and build muscle. There’s a weekly calendar of group exercise classes for those who don’t like to go it alone.
Prefer your exercise with lashings of fresh air? You’re in for a treat. The Harbour Hotel Guildford makes the ideal base for exploring the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It’s also just a 15-minute stroll from riverside walks beside the tranquil River Wey.
Restaurants & Food at Guildford Harbour Hotel & Spa
You’ve nurtured your soul at the spa, now it’s time to nourish your body, and the Harbour Hotel Guildford has two options to help you do just that. So where should you head for your post-pampering pick-me-up?
If you fancy a scone alongside your self-care, afternoon tea is served in HarBAR, the heart and hub of the Harbour Hotel Guildford. Spoil yourself with delicate finger sandwiches, tempting cakes and, of course, freshly baked scones, served under the twinkly chandelier and sky-high bookcase.
With a relaxed ambience and all-day eating, you can sink into a squishy sofa and tuck into some comfort food, a coffee or a cocktail. Or head out onto the canopied terrace and enjoy some tasty treats al fresco. Don’t worry - there are cosy heaters if the weather’s not playing ball.
For tender cuts of traditionally reared, grass-fed beef, step next door to the lively Long Bar & Grill. Ask for the cut of the day and watch chefs fire it up in the open kitchen. Or just sit up at the bar and have a signature cocktail. At 80-feet in length, there’s plenty of room!

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Harbour Hotel Guildford do afternoon tea?
Yes it does. Served in the hotel’s vibrant HarBAR or out on the canopied, heated terrace, expect dainty sandwiches, dinky patisserie and warm, crumbly scones. It’s all served with something warm and aromatic - or altogether more blonde and bubbly!. You’ll even find some themed afternoon teas that change with the seasons.
Does the Harbour Hotel Guildford have a swimming pool?
It has a large indoor hydrotherapy pool and plunge pool, plus a super-glamorous outdoor heated relax pool with water jets and submerged seats. None are exactly long enough if you were hoping to perfect your backstroke. But they are a fantastic spot in which to unwind and relax tired muscles. And the outdoor poolside loungers make an excellent spot if you wanted to curl up with your book - and a glass of fizz.
What spa facilities are on offer at the Harbour Hotel Guildford?
Alongside the pools you’ll find a stone-oven sauna, aromatic crystal steam room and relaxation room. There’s also a state-of-the-art gym with a fabulous space for yoga classes, and seven treatment rooms.
Does the Harbour Hotel Guildford have accommodation?
Yes it does. Should you decide to extend your pamper package to an overnight stay, you’ll find 183 bedrooms and suites. All room categories boast luxurious touches like top-of-the-range toiletries and furnishings, Nespresso coffee machines and Roman-style blackout blinds.
Where is the Harbour Hotel Guildford located?
You’ll find this ultra-modern hotel on Alexandra Terrace, just off Guildford High Street. The train station is just a 15-minute walk away. Because it’s right in the heart of town, all of Guildford’s attractions are on the doorstep, from fantastic shopping to the Cathedral and museum. But you’re also close to the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty if you wanted to get out and explore the countryside.
What are the check-in and check-out times at Harbour Hotel Guildford?
Here for a day spa package? Lucky you! It’s best to check your booking confirmation as arrival times vary. For overnight stays, check-in time is from 3pm and check-out time is by 11am.
Is Harbour Hotel Guildford accessible?
Yes it is. There are ground-level entrances and lifts throughout. Eight Deluxe rooms are accessible with king-size beds, working desks, high-back armchairs, and wet-style bathrooms.
Is Harbour Hotel Guildford family-friendly?
Planning on bringing the crew? Children under 18 can’t use the spa or gym, and there are no family rooms at the hotel. However there are some connecting rooms that allow you to keep an eye on the little ones. A few rooms can accommodate an extra bed and the majority can fit a cot. Extra beds are only suitable for children up to 12 years old.
There’s plenty to keep them occupied - and many of Guildford’s best attractions can be enjoyed for free. Soak up the history at Guildford Museum or follow the industrial history trail to find the hidden ruins of Chilworth Gunpowder Mills.
Is Harbour Hotel Guildford dog-friendly?
Sorry it isn’t. No pets are allowed at Harbour Hotel Guildford, only service dogs.
Does Harbour Hotel Guildford have a golf course?
While there isn’t a golf course on-site, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t pack your clubs. An eight-minute drive takes you to Guildford Golf Club, an 18-hole course with views of the Cathedral.
