About
In need of a serious slice of escapism? Let the Heritage Retreat at Trump International Scotland be the oasis you seek. This tranquil wellness spa is perfect for those who love all things luxe, combining stress-busting scenery, heritage and history with more than just a sprinkle of glitz and glamour.
First there’s its unique location. As part of the Trump International Scotland estate in Aberdeenshire, the spa nestles in some seriously gorgeous grounds. Famous for its award-winning golf course, there are over 1,400 acres of beautiful meadows, woodland and coastline to explore, all teeming with wildlife (and some super-cute Highland cattle).
At the centre of it all is the estate’s hotel, Trump MacLeod House & Lodge. A former baronial mansion and hunting lodge dating from the 15th century, the house itself brims with period features, roaring log fires and authentic Scottish charm. These days, you can rent it for exclusive use, private parties and bedrooms subject to availability but there is another option just next door - and it’s equally as sumptuous.
Beautifully boutique, Trump MacLeod Lodge is the 19th century stable that formed part of the original estate buildings. Now transformed into luxuriously bespoke guest rooms, each one has opulent furnishings, exquisite linen and its own charm.
Of course, its close proximity to the Trump International Golf Links course makes Trump MacLeod House & Lodge perfect for those who love to pamper and putt.
But there’s plenty to do here if golf’s not your bag. A short drive from Aberdeen, it makes the the ideal base for those looking to explore the region’s castles, partake in some outdoor pursuits or just explore the ‘Granite City’.
Thriving and cosmopolitan, Aberdeen was built on the wealth of the oil industry of the North Sea. That heritage has given it some stunning architecture and museums, but it's a fun city too. Union Street boasts over 800 shops, so it’s ideal for those looking for a little retail therapy.
But chances are you won’t want to stray too far from the Heritage Retreat. In this tranquil oasis you’ll find two zen-like treatment rooms, a relaxation room and an entire menu of specialist massages, facials, and hot stone treatments to relax and revive you.

The Spa & Wellness at Heritage Retreat at Trump International Scotland
If your favourite kind of spa is a super-luxurious, glitzy A-list hangout, get that robe and slippers on and step right this way. Well, you’re worth it!
The Heritage Retreat is a piece of pampering heaven nestled in the grounds of Trump MacLeod House & Lodge, the glamorous hotel at the famous golf resort.
But time spent in this sequestered space offers something more than just sheer indulgence - it’s a wellbeing experience that lingers long after the massage oil’s been washed away.
Once cocooned in the comfort of your soft robe, the spa’s bijou relaxation area beckons. Immerse yourself in this sumptuous sanctuary, then lie back on a warm bed in a treatment room while a trained therapist gently pummels away those aches and pains.
With a fusion of massages, facials and beauty treatments, you’ll get a one-of-a-kind experience that will leave you feeling nourished and glowing. But will you go for an Indian head massage, an age-defying facial or a salt and oil body scrub to stimulate your circulation? Decisions, decisions.
The Gym & Fitness at Heritage Retreat at Trump International Scotland
There’s no need to press pause on your fitness while you’re staying at this incredible Scottish estate - particularly if you like your workouts to come with lungfuls of fresh sea air.
As one of the most exclusive golf resorts Scotland has to offer, the sport of kings is a big draw here. Not only is there a par 72 championship golf course to master, you’ll find so many ways to improve your game, including a 22-acre driving range, a huge putting green plus pro golf coaching to help you get to grips with your club.
If golf’s not your thing, the extensive grounds are perfect for hiking, strolling or power walking. Or try a spot of dune walking at Balmedie Country Park. Great for toning the thighs (and working up an appetite), the sand dunes here are part of a 15 mile dune system of national importance.
Try the well-signposted Thyme Walk, a 3.7km circular route around the dunes and heath land, complete with the remains of World War II pillboxes and anti-tank blocks to explore.
You’ll also find an array of active outdoor pursuits to enjoy either on-site or close by, including horse riding, hunting and shooting, fishing, mountain exploration and even skiing during the winter.
Restaurants & Food at Heritage Retreat at Trump International Scotland
Focusing on your self-care doesn’t have to end when your treatment is over. Not if your pampering package includes a delectable breakfast and dinner at the Dunes Restaurant & Bar!
Situated in the Clubhouse, a shuttle bus takes you right to the Dunes’ elegant front door, so you don’t even have to smudge your pedicure.
Warm, welcoming and comfortable, sink into a stylish leather or tweed armchair and soak up the ambience. It really is something extra special, with floor-to-ceiling windows that showcase every aspect of the view, over the golf course and the dunes beyond.
But what to choose? For breakfast, try a Golfer’s Full Scottish Breakfast or the famed Club Omelette, guaranteed to fuel you up ahead of a day spent exploring the estate.
For dinner, the menu is crammed with items fit for a former President, such as classic ribeye, cooked to perfection or pan-seared salmon. Just don’t miss the Trump Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert.
After dinner it’s time to prop up the stylish marble-top bar, where an impressive list of cocktails await. Our tip? Try the Old Fashioned. It wins rave reviews!
