About

Wow-factor wellness. Fantastic facilities. Incredible eating and drinking. Adventurous activities. If you thought nothing could beat a cruise for lavish leisure experiences, you’ve clearly not been to Heythrop Park. Set against the chocolate-box prettiness of the Cotswolds it offers endless opportunities for rest and relaxation (or something altogether more action-packed) - and all without ever having to leave dry land.

Around five miles from Chipping Norton and a short drive from a certain Diddly Squat farm shop, this adults-only haven boasts a rich history. It was once the home of Charles Talbot, the first Duke of Shrewsbury, who drew inspiration from his Italian travels to create this extravagant Baroque palazzo. Newly-opened in September 2022 as Warner’s biggest and boldest property to date, this Grade II listed gem has undergone a £40 million refurbishment - the results of which will take your breath away.

Even the approach is impressive, thanks to a lengthy driveway that sets the stage for a grand and memorable stay. With 337 rooms that cater to various tastes and budgets, Heythrop Park ensures supreme comfort, mixed with more than a little indulgence. Each room blends contemporary and vintage elements along with life’s little luxuries - we’re talking plush white robes and top-of-the-range toiletries.

Whether you're a foodie, a culture vulture, a spa devotee, or a fitness fanatic, Heythrop Park has you covered. There are three unique restaurants to sink your teeth into, along with two bars, a theatre and a late lounge for nights filled with excitement. Play a round at the championship-standard golf course, walk for miles on extensive trails through its 440 acres of parkland or hit the manicured lawns for a spot of boules or croquet.

Adventurous type? Heythrop Park offers activities like rifle shooting, archery and Nordic walking, ensuring that your stay is as dynamic as you desire. If the gym’s more your tonic, you’ll find a well-equipped fitness suite plus dance workshops, group exercise, yoga and meditation classes.

But if relaxation is at the top of your agenda, the resort's spa is a must-visit. Here, you can pamper yourself with treatments, take a leisurely swim in the 20-metre indoor pool or soak in the peace and tranquility of one of the two alfresco hot tubs.

Guests eager to spread their wings have plenty of options nearby. The nearby town of Chipping Norton bustles with independent shops, art galleries and quaint pubs, or visit Bourton-on-the-Water to find out why it’s nicknamed the Venice of The Cotswolds. You’ll also find Oxford, Bicester Village and Blenheim Palace (the ancestral home of Winston Churchill) right on Heythrop Park’s honey-coloured doorstep.

Whether you're looking for a serene country house retreat or a vibrant, fast-paced getaway, Heythrop Park has it all. So check in, then chill out on your journey of luxury, relaxation, and entertainment.

The Spa & Wellness at Heythrop Park

Take a break from the hustle and bustle in the soothing sanctuary that is the hotel’s spa and wellness club. A haven of luxury, it offers so many ways to spoil yourself, from a simple dip before lunch to an all-day pamper session. Whether you have just an afternoon to spare or want to plan your entire getaway around finding spa serenity, Heythrop Park has you covered.

Step inside, and feel your shoulders drop as you explore the spa cocooned in your fluffy white robe. There’s a beautifully-lit indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and thermal suite. But the jewel in the crown has to be the pair of alfresco hot tubs. Nestled in a new decking area, they make the perfect spot for peaceful contemplation amidst the crisp country air.

Let the soothing bubbles work their magic on your muscles, while you indulge in some refreshments - orange juice and prosecco are both best enjoyed while wallowing in the warmth.

In collaboration with skincare brand Temple Spa, Heythrop Park's face and body rituals draw inspiration from the vibrant Mediterranean. Whether you're in the mood for a brightening facial, a detoxifying mud wrap, or a rejuvenating foot ritual, you’ll leave feeling glowing from head to toe.

Take some time to chill in the scented relaxation room before heading for the perfect finishing touch. Heythrop Park offers a barber's chair for instant makeovers, along with slick manicures and pedicures at the Grooming Station.

The Gym & Fitness at Heythrop Park

Unless you’ve got a will of iron, sticking to your exercise goals while you’re on a decadent spa break can be tough. But the fabulous fitness-fostering facilities at Heythrop Park will make being active feel like a breeze.

The fully-equipped gym will see you sculpting and toning like never before. Sweat it out on the resistance and cardiovascular machines, or lift free weights and do your own routine. Just remember that, however hard you work out, the sauna, steam room and outdoor hot tubs will be ready and waiting to boost your recovery.

But at Heythrop Park, you never need to go it alone thanks to an alphabet of group fitness classes, from aqua aerobics to zumba. Take a relaxing stroll or bike ride through the 440 acres of parkland, try Nordic walking or go on a guided gardener-led tour to learn more about the heritage grounds.

Adventurous types will love the range of daily activities on offer, like archery, croquet and golf. Or learn a new skill in a pilates or dance workshop designed to get your pulse racing. Who knows? You could leave Heythrop Park with a brand new hobby, feeling fitter than ever before.

Restaurants & Food at Heythrop Park

Whether you’re in the mood for a post-spa cocktail or a long, lingering lunch to round off your day, at Heythrop Park you’ll never go hungry (or thirsty!) for long. There are three distinctive restaurants and two bars, so there’s bound to be something to take your fancy.

Brasserie32

Fancy something fancy? Situated in a beautiful suite of rooms in the gorgeous Georgian manor house, this is Heythrop Park’s poshest dining option. Enjoy breakfast, lunch and fine dining, along with elegant afternoon teas. For dinner, choose from a menu inspired by recipes from the 1900s, like whisky glazed beef short rib with bone-marrow bread pudding and Queen of Puddings made using a Constance Spry recipe from the 1950s.

Travelling Duke Pub and Kitchen

A hotel with its own snug gastro pub? Now you’re talking. Get cosy in the Travelling Duke and dine on classic favourites such as shepherd’s pie, along with local tipples served from a timber bar.

Market Kitchen in the Orangery

Whether for a bountiful buffet breakfast or a delectable dinner, self service is the order of the day in the Market Kitchen. Located in the light-filled Orangery, just select what you want from the British classics and global favourites on offer, then fill your plate.

Late Lounge Bar and The Brassey Bar

For aperitifs or cocktails after dinner, you’re spoilt for choice. Head to the cosy tranquility of the Brassey Bar, or the vibrant atmosphere of The Late Lounge Bar, situated within the heart of the entertainment area.

Staff were friendly and helpful, gym was basic but served my needs, it www very quiet so I had lots of space in the pool it was a shame the hot tubs weren’t working properly but still nice to go in the warm water outside looking at the trees. Massage was lovely and the relaxation room is really good. My melon platter was enough to feed a family of four! All round it was a lovely visit, can’t wait to come back!

Spa treatment and environment was very relaxing. However the spa reception wasn’t very welcoming. The hotel was clean and food was lovely. Other than at the spa reception all the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Day of pampering

I recently enjoyed a day of pampering at Heythrop Park, and the only complaint I have is that I should have booked a long weekend instead. The place is located in tranquil grounds which are perfect for long walks, but unfortunately I didn’t have time to enjoy them. I did, however, book a massage at the spa and it was wonderful, so relaxing and just what I needed after a stressful few weeks at work. The restaurant offered lovely lunches, but next time I visit it will be for a stay-over so I can enjoy breakfast and dinner as well. Having been bitten by the Heythrop bug, I intend to come back time and time again in the future

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a swimming pool at Heythrop Park?

There is, so don’t forget to pack your cossie. You’ll dive into total luxury at this 20m indoor pool, plus there’s a sauna, steam room and thermal suite to relax in afterwards. But the icing on the cake has to be the two outdoor hot tubs. Nothing beats soaking in the warm water, with a glass of something just as bubbly in hand as you watch the birds flying overhead.

Does Heythrop Park do afternoon tea?

It sure does, and there’s no better way to round off your pampering spa package. Stretchy waistbands at the ready because the afternoon teas at Heythrop Park are filling. Served in the elegant surroundings of Brasserie 32 in the main house, finger sandwiches, warm scones and the cutest cakes are all temptingly displayed on a stand. You may need to ask for a doggy bag to take them all home!

Is there accommodation at Heythrop Park?

Of course! There are 337 rooms with categories suitable for all tastes and budgets. All rooms feature large beds, modern bathrooms, luxe Templespa toiletries and cosy robes. You'll also find a generous tea tray with fresh milk, plus television and access to free Wi-Fi.

There are 16 unique bedrooms in the original manor house, and they’re just as swish as you would imagine. Most of the other 311 rooms are housed in Heythrop Park’s newer wings.

Is Heythrop Park accessible?

Yes, it offers wheelchair access, lifts in some parts of the hotel, reduced mobility rooms, and facilities for disabled guests. For specific enquiries, we recommend calling ahead to confirm. Just remember that Heythrop Park is a large hotel, built over a wide area and on several levels. As such, all facilities are quite spread out which could pose a challenge to less mobile guests.

What time is check-in and check-out at Heythrop Park?

For overnight stays, you can get there from 11am to enjoy lunch and wander the grounds, but your room won’t be open or available to you until 3pm. Similarly, while check-out is by 10am, you don’t need to leave until midday. For spa packages, arrival times vary so please check your booking confirmation.

Does Heythrop Park take cash?

Bring your debit or credit card because all Warner hotels are cashless. If you’re staying overnight, a room account will be set up for you when you check in and any extras charged to it, payable by card.

Can you hire bikes at Heythrop Park?

You can and, with 440 acres to explore, a bike really is your best option if you want to see it all. Go for a regular push bike, but if you pay a little more you can hire an electric bike. A great idea, given that the estate is a little hilly.

Where is Heythrop Park?

You’ll find Heythrop Park on the eastern edge of the Cotswolds, less than two hours’ drive from London and just over an hour from Birmingham. The nearest town is Chipping Norton.

Does Heythrop Park have a dress code?

No, there’s no dress code at Warner Hotels but most people do dress in smart casualwear, particularly for dinner at Brasserie32.

Is Heythrop Park family-friendly?

Sorry, Heythrop Park is a Warner property and, as such, it’s adults-only.

Is Heythrop Park pet-friendly?

Sorry, it isn’t. No pets allowed, except for registered assistance dogs.

Does Heythrop Park have a golf course?

Keen golfers are in for a treat here, as the 440-acre grounds are home to a championship standard 18-hole course that you’ll glimpse as you make your way up the very long driveway. Called the Bainbridge Course, each hole has a variety of tee options so you can tailor the course to your abilities. There is also a driving range to perfect your swing.
