Cutting-edge classes like Reformer Pilates, TBT, Tabata, LIFT,and Hybrid complement the classics like yoga, fitness Pilates, and Ride, providing a holistic blend of options to tone and tighten you from head to toe.

With more than 50 complimentary classes per week, you’re bound to find something that takes your fitness fancy. Total newbie? Don’t sweat it. The experienced instructors at Hoar Cross Hall will tailor the intensity to your level.

Outdoorsy type? Hoar Cross Hall offers plenty of ways to merge fitness with nature. The estate boasts acre upon acre of lush woodland and magnificent formal gardens, providing an idyllic setting for power walks, jogs, or leisurely strolls. 

Get your steps up on the woodland trail, but if walking boots aren’t your style, what about tennis, archery, or golf at the driving range? You can even hire bikes and cycle along the scenic paths of this expansive estate. Needwood Forest and the tranquil Italian Garden make for a visually rewarding ride.

Time to undo all that work you’ve been doing in the gym in some of Hoar Cross Hall’s most scrumptious spaces - but believe us, it’s oh-so worth it. The culinary experiences on offer here are so good they’ll tempt even the fussiest of foodies. In fact, many of the vegetables and herbs are grown within the grounds - they even produce their own honey.

The Library

Decadent afternoon teas are served in the Library - and what a fitting backdrop it makes for the elegant treat. Sip, scoff and socialise in style with views of the formal gardens. Just don’t miss the ornate gold mirror over the fireplace - apparently it was the inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s ‘Alice Through the Looking-Glass’. There’s even two secret bookcase doorways!

The Ballroom

For an extra special start and end to your day, try the bountiful breakfasts and three-course dinners at the AA-Rosette-awarded Ballroom restaurant. Originally called ‘The Drawing Room’, this room really has the wow-factor, so look out for the Grade-II listed William Morris wallpaper, the Bodley ‘wedding cake’ ceiling, grand chandeliers and views over the southern formal gardens. 

Henry’s

Found near to the internal entrance to the spa, this laid-back dining space is the place to go for informal brunches and lunches. Stone-baked pizzas, healthy smoothies and salad bowls are the order of the day here.

Hugo’s

Here on a spa day and wondering where you’ll have lunch? Head to Hugo’s, the spa’s day-time restaurant - you can wear your spa robes so you don’t even have to interrupt your day of relaxation. With a great mix of salads to something a bit more indulgent, you’ll find hearty fare amid the alfalfa sprouts.

The Long Gallery

Time for a tipple? Make a toast to your newfound wellness with a menu of expertly-mixed cocktails served in the warm and inviting Long Gallery. With its sumptuous oak-panelling, twinkling chandeliers and richly-decorated ceiling, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time to Tudor days. Go for a classic Singapore Sling or try a house creation beautifully presented with dramatic theatre, unique flavours and striking decorations.

Can’t live without laps? You’re in luck. The main saltwater vitality pool is some 26m in length, so it’s perfect for swimming. And where else can you swim into a starlit cave and enjoy a massaging volcano?

It does. Beyond the wonderful spa facilities, Hoar Cross Hall offers 104 elegant rooms and suites where you can rest your head after a long day of spoiling yourself silly. From Snug to Comfy, Garden View to Suite, an expansive collection of different room types caters to every guest’s needs.

Impressive Exclusive Suites are an eclectic mix of glamorous spaces, each unique by design, and perfect for a showstopper stay. Hot Tub Suites promise a private balcony and bubbling hot tub, with copious amounts of space to kick-back and relax.

It is. Hoar Cross Hall wants all of its guests to unwind in welcoming surroundings, so both the hotel and the day spa are wheelchair accessible. At the hotel you’ll find two designated accessible bedrooms providing 24-hour pull cord assistance and assisted bathrooms, plus a further five ground floor bedrooms suitable for limited access. At the spa, there’s a pool hoist for the saltwater, accessible changing rooms and a heat room area off the swimming pool that’s wheelchair accessible.

Here on a spa stay? Check-in times vary by room types, so it’s best to check your booking confirmation. Generally, if you’re in a Comfy Suite, Garden Suite, Exclusive Suite, Hot Tub Suite & Royal Suite you can check-in at 3pm. Snug, Comfy, Garden View, Comfy for Three and Quad guests can check in at 4pm​. All guests have to vacate their rooms by 11am.

Remember to bring your credit card because Hoar Cross Hall is a cashless venue. Other than that, don’t forget your activewear, trainers water bottle to take part in fitness classes. It’s also worth bringing a couple of swimming costumes so you have a dry one to wear for treatments. 

Flip-flops can be purchased but feel free to bring your own. Other than that, you’ll be given a snuggly robe and towel, and the changing rooms are well-equipped with luxurious shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion and hair dryers.

Feeling fit? You’ll need to book tennis, gym and classes with the gym reception on arrival. Bikes and electric bikes can also be booked for use in the grounds and surrounding areas at the gym desk (available March - November). For manicures and hair cuts at the Parlour, it’s best to book prior to your visit, so give them a call on 01283 576512.

You’ll find it in the tiny village of Hoar Cross, situated in the countryside of Staffordshire in the West Midlands, right at the end of a meandering country road. Because of its central UK location it makes a handy (and incredibly luxurious) place for friends and family to get together. It’s pretty much equidistant from Burton-on-Trent, Uttoxeter and Lichfield.

No, it’s blissfully adults-only, for those aged over 16 years, and that includes the hotel, spa and restaurants. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult for overnight stays. For specific events, such as Christmas, this may differ.

Hold the doggy manicure! No pets of any kind can visit Hoar Cross Hall, with the exception of assistance dogs.
