About

Exceptional grounds and ancient woodland to stroll around. Exquisite views to admire. A luxurious spa and health club to revel in. Holbrook Manor Hotel & Spa will make you feel as though you've been whisked off to your own country retreat to live in the lap of luxury.

Sweep up the winding, tree-lined driveway and you’ll see why Holbrook Manor is such a popular wedding venue - it’s just so pretty! With all the good looks of a French chateau, artfully entwined with wisteria and ivy, it dates back over 800 years. A burbling brook flows from a woodland pond through enchanted gardens, creating a magical backdrop for stress-busting spa days full of enjoyment.

Beautifully boutique, the hotel has 15 spacious bedrooms in the original house, along with five garden rooms with private terraces. But even if you’re not here for a sleep-over in serenity, the Hayloft Spa at Holbrook, along with its well-equipped leisure club, are destinations in their own right.

This historic hotel is situated deep in the Somerset countryside, near the borders of Dorset and Wiltshire. But because it’s just an hour and a half from both London and the Midlands, it makes the perfect meeting point for far-flung friends. And with spa days that include light bites or afternoon tea in the contemporary Garden Cafe, you’ll all be able to reconnect in style.

If there’s time to explore after all that pampering, Holbrook Manor Hotel & Spa is just outside the historic town of Wincanton, home of Wincanton Racecourse and famous for being twinned with Ankh-Morpork - the city state in Terry Pratchett's fantasy Discworld novels. A visit to Wincanton’s Discworld Emporium is not to be missed if you’re a fan of the series.

History lover? Pay a visit to the hillside fort called Cadbury Castle, just four miles away, while art lovers won’t want to miss a visit to trendy Bruton. The quirky town is home to Hauser & Wirth Somerset, the contemporary art gallery housed in a restored, working farm.

Our guess though is that you won’t want to stray too far from Holbrook Manor. Drift around the indoor heated pool and spa bath, then breathe deeply in the steam room and sauna. But make sure you leave time for a nourishing ila or Natural Spa Factory ritual, designed to help you relax, rejuvenate and rebalance.

The Spa & Wellness at Holbrook Manor Hotel and Spa

Any visit to the gorgeously Georgian Holbrook Manor will leave you feeling like lord or lady of the manor. But a visit to its Hayloft Spa has everything you need to spoil yourself in style.

A place where only the best will do, your journey into self-care and holistic wellness begins at The Club, the home of Holbrook’s luxe leisure facilities. At 15m, the warm, indoor pool is long enough for laps, or just take a leisurely dip as you catch up with friends. Bubble your troubles away in the spa bath, or hit the sauna and steam room to fully unwind.

When it’s time for your treatment, the tranquil Hayloft Spa awaits. With plush furnishings and a hushed ambience, it’s more than a spa - it’s a sanctuary for the soul. There’s a menu of ila and the Natural Spa Factory rituals to enjoy, whether you’re seeking beautiful skin or inner calm. Pure and natural, and with a holistic philosophy, they’re deeply nurturing for your whole wellbeing.

Apply the final finishing touches to your spa escape with an OPI mani/pedi, then float out of the spa, glowing from top to toe.

The Gym & Fitness at Holbrook Manor Hotel and Spa

Looking for a fitness boost? You’ll find it at the Club at Holbrook. This swish leisure club includes a state-of-the-art-gym, a designated weights room and a swimming pool, along with a timetable of group fitness classes to take part in. And, with a sauna and steam room to unwind in afterwards, everything you need for a toned, healthier you is all under one roof.

Light and airy thanks to an expansive glass roof, exercise feels like a breeze at the Club. Try some cardio or have a go at the resistance machines safe in the knowledge that well-trained staff are on hand to offer support.

Prefer to exercise in the great outdoors? Holbrook Manor is situated in 20 acres of gardens and ancient woodland. Go for a stroll and see if you can find the 400-year old Cedar of Lebanon tree, or take one of the winding pathways through the woods to look at the wildlife - roe deer, foxes and badgers have all been spotted here.

Restaurants & Food at Holbrook Manor Hotel and Spa

If all that pampering has worked up an appetite you’re in for a treat. The Garden Cafe is where you’ll head for a coffee, light bite or a sumptuous afternoon tea when you’re here for a spa day, and it’s every bit as relaxing as the Hayloft Spa itself.

The Garden Cafe serves continental breakfast each morning, plus soft, alcoholic and hot drinks throughout the day. With muted tones and plush seating, it strikes the perfect balance of classy and comfortable. There’s a wood burner for colder days, while lovely views of the grounds come as standard.

Sink into a squashy chair and enjoy hot drinks and a pastry for breakfast. Or come after your spa package for a glass of bubbles and an elegant afternoon tea served on a dainty cake stand.

Really helpful staff in the cafe, maybe new staff on the desk not always sure of the check in procedure but very nice. The spa is just right and we really enjoyed it, we wondered if the Jacuzzi may have had a bit too much chlorine in though eyes very stingy in there. Otherwise lovely, super lunch and relaxed atmosphere.
