About
When it’s time to come in from Cumbria’s great outdoors, kick back and be pampered at Lodore Falls. This landmark Lake District hotel has a superb position overlooking Derwentwater - and it even has the Lodore waterfall tumbling serenely through it. But while the scenery may be stunning, it’s the award-winning, ski-lodge-style Falls Spa with its cosy Spa Suites that make this one of the UK's most picturesque wellness retreats.
Nestled in the heart of the Borrowdale Valley, the main hotel is a slate Victorian building filled with charm, and a history that dates back to 1870. But it’s the contemporary, Scandi-style spa that has to be seen to be believed. Inside there’s a Champagne Bar for mid-morning mimosas, a laconium heat room, herbal sauna, salt steam room and ice fountain as well as rainfall-inspired showers.
Outside the Finnish sauna has a floor-to-ceiling window, while the 16m infinity edge hydrotherapy pool is blissfully warm and complete with underwater jets. With spectacular mountain and lake vistas from all angles, this is more than just an indulgent retreat. It’s a haven of luxurious health and wellness.
If you can tear yourself away from your heated lounger, you won’t be stuck for things to do. Cruise across the lake to Keswick, to mooch around the twice-weekly market or visit the Derwent Pencil Museum. Take a hike to Great Gable and Skiddaw, or take in a play at the Theatre by the Lake. Test your head for heights at the Honister Slate Mine’s Via Ferrata experience - or at the GoApe course in Whinlatter, England's only true mountain forest.
Checking-in to Lodore Falls Hotel for the night? Lucky you! Lake View, Standard and Classic rooms in the main hotel are cosy and comfortable. But it’s the 23 Spa Suites that are the real star of the show, offering guests the full spa getaway experience. Just don’t miss your chance for dinner and cocktails (with a side order of celeb-spotting) at destination Pan-Asian restaurant, Mizu, before you call it a night.

We have had lovely time, the treatment was very good but the times were an issue as they expected us at 4.30 & our time for the spa to begin was 5.00, the meal we had was excellent we will be back before the spa closes. Will miss it while its closed for refurbishment.

From the outset my Daughter and I were thoroughly looked after. We were given a tour, shown to our table for the day,had a complimentary hot beverage whilst we filled our forms in.Beautiful fresh fruit also adorned the table. We were advised of the times of treatments, hot tub session and afternoon tea,our afternoon was pure bliss. I had a back massage which was superb. My Daughter had the facial which she found very relaxing. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. The afternoon tea, delicious (but too much to eat in one sitting) Delightful views from the hot tub(we were even given extra time as there were no other bookings following ours) The pool water was lovely and warm and fairly quiet all day. On the whole, extremely good value for money the only downside is the spa itself is a little dated. What the Lodore Falls lacks in spa decore it well and truly makes up for with absolutely stunning scenery.

I went for the Ladies Day spa package at Lodore Falls Hotel in Keswick. I was feeling nice and relaxed in the first hour of my day there however I was using the swimming pool and a load of children came and took over the pool, so much so I had to get out because they were being noisy. On a relaxing spa day, you DO NOT expect a lot of children to come in and cause such a disturbance. What I had not realised was that the spa facilituies were open to other hotel residences and members of the public - this was not communicated to me when I booked this spa day. I would encourage that this is communicated to other people looking at spa days at this hotel. On the plus side the food was absolutely brilliant and the spa treatments themselves (massage, facial and nail treatment) were very relaxing and done to high standard. The facility was lovely and clean. Overall a relaxing day despite the inital setback. Booking was simple and easy to do through spa seekers and good value for money.

This was a treat for my daughter and I for her birthday. We could not have asked for a better afternoon of pampering, relaxing and special time. Outdoor hot tub overlooking cat bells and waterfalls, with trees and birds nearby, expert back massage and cream tea were the highlights.Thank you.
