Lace up your walking boots and take a hike - there are natural wonders on Sawcliffe Manor’s doorstep just waiting to be explored, from the roaming Exmoor ponies to the wild rabbit warren which has been listed as a SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest).

And if you’re here with a group, Sawcliffe can organise a yoga class, followed by a relaxing herbal tea, blended with herbs from the garden.

Breakfast hampers

Stay in your pjs and have a lazy start to the morning with a breakfast hamper delivered straight to your cottage, or laid out on the manor’s kitchen island. Amidst the goodies you’ll find traditional sourdough bread, free range eggs, Lincolnshire sausages, granolas, pastries, and even local milk from the milk man. Here on a special occasion? You can even get a hamper that includes flowers, tea-ware and Champagne coupes. 

Grazing domes

Keep the bliss going by tucking into tempting tapas after your spa session. Sawcliffe Manor’s grazing domes are piled high with famous local cheeses, plus olives, dips, specialty relishes and crackers.

Afternoon tea hampers

Available as a surprise if you’re here for a celebration, Sawcliffe Manor’s afternoon tea hampers combine quirky vintage tea-ware with traditional cream cakes. Work your way through tasty savouries, a mountain of petit fours, scones and a seasonal selection of dairy cakes.

Evening meal hampers

Perfect after a long day or relaxing, evening meal hampers include a cheese and cracker starter, followed by prize-winning Lincolnshire steak and ale pies and chocolate fondant puddings that you just have to heat up.

No, there’s no swimming pool but that doesn’t mean you won’t be spending your day relaxing in something warm and wet. The Natural Spa at Sawcliffe Manor doesn’t just have a wood-fired hot tub. It also has a copper hot tub filled with warm milk and flowers! And the best bit about it is that you get all of its luxe facilities all to yourself, so you can live out all your Cleopatra fantasies in complete privacy! 

You’ll find them inside a beautiful natural-wood structure in a private walled garden that’s just a 20-second walk from Rose Cottage and the manor house, and a short drive away from Plum Cottage. Overlooking a small lake full of wildlife, the best thing about the Natural Spa at Sawcliffe Manor is that you get all of its sumptuous facilities to yourself.

There is, and it's beautifully quirky. Forget stuffy hotel rooms because at Sawcliffe Manor you’ll stay in either one of four beautifully decorated B&B rooms in the original manor, or in one of three stylish cottages set within the grounds.

One of the best rooms in the original manor house has to be the fairytale Lord of the Manor Suite. Furnished with unique antiques, this one-of-kind bedroom has its own beautiful copper bath.

If you’re here on an overnight break, check-in is at 4pm and check-out at 11am. Mini spa sessions take place at 2pm to 4pm or 11am to 1pm. Full spa sessions are from 5pm to 8pm, and there’s only one per day - it takes that long to get the natural spa prepared!

The Manor house dates back to Mediaeval times - you can even see its entry in the Domesday Book! One of its quirks is that it has nine different staircases (perfect for playing hide and seek).

Sawcliffe Manor is located in High Risby, a village just outside Scunthorpe. And while your backyard at Sawcliffe Manor is a 400-acre nature reserve teeming with wildlife and Exmoor ponies roaming free, the Humber Estuary, a haven for birdwatchers, is also just a stone's throw away, offering breathtaking coastal views and opportunities for kayaking or paddleboarding.

History lover? Lincoln is just a 40-minute drive away with its magnificent Castle, a Norman fortress steeped in medieval intrigue. Or, stay closer to home in Scunthorpe to delve into the Viking heritage at the North Lincolnshire Museum, where ancient artifacts whisper tales of a bygone era.

Totally off-grid, the hot tub is made from oak, pine and larch wood and is filled with fresh water, plus it’s wood-fired and candlelit. No chemicals or electricity required!

You’ll also find that Sawcliffe Manor’s food and drink hampers are made using only seasonal ingredients from local farms in the area, too.

Yes it is! Families are welcome in the accommodation at Sawcliffe Manor, while children aged 5 and over can join their parents or guardians in a family-friendly mini-spa session, as long as they’re accompanied at all times by an adult.

Yes it is. Well-behaved pooches can stay for £30, per dog, per night, but they’re not allowed to sleep on the beds and must be kept on a lead when outside.

No, there’s no golf club at Sawcliffe Manor, but jump in the car and in just 11 minutes you could be teeing off at the spectacular Normanby Hall Country Park. Set in 117 acres of mature woodland and parkland, the beautiful 18-hole, par 72 course is considered one of the best municipal courses in the country.
