About
We’ll tell you what you want, what you really, really want - a spa day at the iconic St Pancras Renaissance Hotel London. The landmark hotel’s sweeping staircase played a starring role in the Spice Girls’ Wannabe video - but this is more than just a slice of pop memorabilia. Five-star all the way, the exquisite venue blends incredible luxury with unique historical details. But the real draw is found in the hotel’s cavernous basement - a Victorian-inspired spa that’s every bit as breathtaking as the hotel itself.
If you’re a fan of history and gloriously over-the-top architecture, you’ll be in your element here. The Grade I-listed hotel dates to 1876, eight years after St. Pancras station was opened. Architect George Gilbert Scott’s luxury design went way over budget and way beyond expectations. His masterpiece of high Victorian, neo-gothic decoration and extravagance has been painstakingly restored both inside and out. Step inside and you’ll think you’ve landed into a film set.
When you’ve finished taking selfies on the famous staircase, head down to the basement where the old steam kitchens used to be. This luxury oasis is steeped in old world charm thanks to Moorish-style tiles and a midnight blue relaxation pool. Dotted with wicker day pods to lounge on, there’s a sauna, hydro loungers, a therapeutic steam room, and a 24 hour gym, plus wonderfully relaxing treatments from five treatment rooms, including one couple’s suite.
In the mood for a post-massage cocktail, or an elegant afternoon tea? Head directly to The Hansom, just one of the hotel’s many destination dining spots. Once home to the original black cab drop off point for the station, the space boasts neo-Gothic architecture with marble tables and a contemporary bar. And if you did decide to make a night of it, some 245 rooms make a stunning space to lay your head.
Perfectly positioned next to St Pancras Station, some intriguing shopping and sightseeing destinations await. The independent boutiques of Coal Drops Yard is right on the doorstep, while the vibrant Granary Square is perfect for soaking up the area's art culture. You can walk to Camden, Regent’s Park, Bloomsbury and Soho, while the British Library is just across the road. This must-see for bookworms is perfect for some post-pampering culture - as is a certain magical platform made famous by Harry Potter.

The staff and facilities at the spa were pleasant and met expectations. The amount of people visiting matched the fairly small pool and other facilities My only slightly negative feedback would be to provide another or enlarge your current changing room space it really is a tight space for the number of guests present.

First time booking a spa in London and I am pleasantly surprised at how much is packed in to such a central location. Super tidy with friendly staff - we especially loved the relaxation room. My only suggestion would be to have ice chips etc for outside the steam room but maybe that’s not a British thing?

My friend and I had a wonderful time at the spa. We didn’t book any treatments as we wanted to just relax in the facilities, all of which were lovely and not at all busy. Thanks so much for a great experience!

Frequently Asked Questions
Does St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel London do afternoon tea?
Yes it does, and it’s included in some of the spa packages on offer. This once-in-a-lifetime treat is served in The Hansom Lounge, which takes its inspiration from the history of the Hansom Cab. Its location was once the cobbled driveway where the cabs deposited their passengers.
These days you’re more likely to hear live music, tinkling laughter and the chink of Champagne glasses than the bustle of passengers while you daintily scoff sandwiches, scones and pastries. This iconic treat lets you choose something warm and aromatic from the menu of 18 different types of tea - or upgrade to a Champagne Afternoon Tea to really push the boat out.
Is there a swimming pool at St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel London?
There is, and it’s a thing of Victorian beauty. Found in the hotel’s cavernous former steam kitchens, the blue-tiled 11m relaxation pool is heated to a balmy 31 to 34 degrees. They also grant you access to the exclusive Chambers Club, which serves breakfast, afternoon tea, wine and spirits, included in your room rate.

Is the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel London family-friendly?
While children under 18 can’t have a spa treatment, the hotel itself is perfect for your little urban adventurers, particularly if they’re Harry Potter fans. You’re just a stone’s throw from Platform 9¾, located at the adjacent King’s Cross Station.
There are interconnecting family-friendly rooms and custom children’s menus for picky eaters. Kids of overnight guests can splash in the pool from 8am to 10am and 2pm and 4pm each day. Those aged 16 and under must be supervised by an adult.
Is St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel London accessible?
Very. There are 13 accessible rooms to check into with roll-in showers and lowered amenities. The spa and pool also have accessible access and there is designated parking for blue-badge holders.
