About
The wonderful Taplow House Hotel & Spa is in the perfect location for those seeking relaxation. Surrounded by beautiful Berkshire and Buckinghamshire countryside, yet just an hour from London and ten minutes from historic Windsor, this is country-house styling at its very best.
Sitting pretty on six acres of landscaped gardens, the grade-II listed Georgian retreat boasts red brick and white-washed walls and is also the proud owner of Europe's largest tulip trees. Inside you’ll find equally opulent decor, yet with a contemporary twist - think sweeping staircases, twinkling chandeliers and antique fireplaces set against a creamy, dreamy colour palette. It all makes for suitably sumptuous surroundings for your idyllic day of relaxation.
And then there’s the spa itself. Recently reopened following a swish refurbishment, this soothing escape from the outside world offers treatments set in the lap of luxury itself. Wind down with a massage, have a mani or pedi at the nail bar, soak up the heat in the sauna or enjoy some nutritious nibbles in the lounge. All that’s left is to pad down the glazed conservatory walkway to submerge yourself in the delicious outdoor whirlpool.
Tempted to turn your spa day into a spa stay? We don’t blame you. With 30 beautifully decorated period rooms on offer, overnight breaks at Taplow House Hotel & Spa are oh-so romantic. Linger over lunch or dinner in the elegant Garden Room restaurant or, when the weather is warm you can bask on the terrace while you dine al fresco.
If you can bear to tear yourself away from all that’s on offer at Taplow House, you’ll find plenty to see and do locally. Kids big and small will enjoy a day trip to Legoland or Thorpe Park, while history buffs (or those seeking a little retail therapy) will want to spend time exploring the delights of Windsor. But if you’re more of a fan of the sport of kings, check out the racing on offer at Ascot.

The Spa & Wellness at Taplow House Hotel & Spa
We all deserve a chance to step away from the rat race once in a while, and you can do exactly that, here in the spa at Taplow House. The hotel’s cellar has been sympathetically converted into a calming haven of tranquility with everything you need to preen and pamper you to polished perfection.
Put your robe on and your worries down, because your journey to bliss begins at the Spa Lounge. Sink into a chair and sip a fruit-infused water, then pad in your snuggly slippers to the attractive sauna. With seating for 10, you can reconnect as you bask in the heat.
A glass-covered walkway leads you to the outdoor hydro pool. Soak in the warm water, relax under the bubble jets and pummel away any knots under the swan-neck fountain. There are plenty of wicker chairs overlooking the gardens to sprawl out on afterwards, book in hand..
Time for your treatment? Recline, unwind and drift into zen in one of the six seriously serene spaces, including a treatment room for two. Enjoy Temple Spa rituals designed to enhance wellness of mind, body and soul. But will you choose a results-driven facial, problem-solving massage or a bliss-inducing experience such as the Champagne & Truffles Deluxe Treatment? It comes complete with a flute of bubbly and a delicious handmade chocolate at the end.
Suitably relaxed it’s time to add the finishing touches. The chic nail bar will give you the ultimate mani-pedi before a delicious lunch, eaten in the comfort of your robes in the elegant Grenfell Lounge. Just be careful not to smudge!
The Gym & Fitness at Taplow House Hotel & Spa
Like to crunch before lunch? Sadly, there’s no gym at Taplow House Hotel & Spa but that doesn’t mean you won’t have opportunities to work out.
As you might expect from a retreat that’s surrounded by gorgeous countryside, you can savour some unforgettable walks and runs here, accompanied by views that may well take your breath away. Make sure you jog past Taplow House’s enormous tulip trees, thought to be the tallest and fattest in Europe.
This area is also home to a number of popular cycle routes, so if you enjoy life on two wheels you’re going to love it here. In addition, you’ll find several impressive golf courses nearby, waiting to help you while away a few hours of escapism.
Restaurants & Food at Taplow House Hotel & Spa
No day or stay of relaxation would be complete without some exceptional dining, so settle back and prepare for something very special at Taplow House Hotel.
The Grenfell Lounge
Hate spas where they make you get dressed for lunch? If you can’t bear to leave the cocooning comfort of your robe, you’re in luck. The Grenfell Lounge (named after the former Marlow MP, Pascoe Grenfell who owned the house in 1794) is your location for spa lunching and it’s a beautiful space, with an open fireplace, huge sofas, squishy cream carpet and large doors that overlook the gardens. The menu changes daily, but expect three deliciously light courses, with two options to choose from for starters, mains and desserts.
The Bar & Drawing Room
An informal place to meet before your pampering spa package commences (or for a cheeky espresso martini afterwards) you’ll find a roaring open fire, cosy armchairs and an extensive drinks menu.
The Garden Room
Serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, this elegant, yet informal dining room has large French doors opening out onto a terrace, for al fresco meals when the weather is warm. The accent here is on seasonal, locally sourced cuisine with a twist - the steamed bao buns win rave reviews!
