About

A five-star stay in a hotel packed full of charm, in the centre of one of the UK’s loveliest market towns? Don’t mind if we do! With its secret woodland spa, enchanting walled gardens and Georgian good looks, it’s no wonder Sherborne’s The Eastbury Hotel has a mantelpiece groaning with awards. In short, it's the perfect location for those seeking a luxurious bolthole in Dorset.

Originally designed as an 18th-century gentleman’s residence, the red-bricked house is impressively grand. The traditional feel continues on the inside thanks to a billiards room and comfortable lounges. But it’s the walled garden that really makes The Eastbury so special, with an acre of space filled with herbs, flowers and trees. Take time for croquet, badminton and table tennis on the lawns. You can even take your breakfast watching the resident squirrels, thanks to a beautiful pod filled with plump cushions.

Once you’ve finished your kippers, take a stroll through the wooded area of the gardens to get to the spa. Unique, cool and exclusive, this secret haven boasts indoor and outdoor hot tubs as well as a sauna and jacuzzi shower. Two treatment rooms offer tempting GAIA rituals and Shellac finishing touches. Even better, you get this exclusive space all to yourself, for a sense of bliss you never have to share!

You’ll find this five-star AA-rated hotel nestled in the heart of Sherborne, a compact town surrounded by rolling countryside. With two castles and a magnificent Abbey, this culture-packed destination is packed with enough independent shops and antiques troves to occupy an entire weekend away. But should you wish to venture further afield, the Jurassic Coast, Stonehenge and Brownsea Island are all within an hour’s drive.

Overnight stays are particularly blissful at The Eastbury Hotel, thanks to 26 sumptuous bedrooms crammed with luxurious touches . For the ultimate in luxury, Potting Shed Suites in the walled garden come complete with private terraces and fire pits, perfect for hazy summer’s evenings and cosy winter warmers.

The Spa & Wellness at The Eastbury Hotel and Spa

Like your spas to be unique, cool and exclusive? Get that fluffy robe on and walk this way!

Hidden away in a wooded area of The Eastbury’s enchanted garden, the spa has a quaint arched roof, covered with foliage. Tiptoe inside and feel your shoulders drop, because you’ll get this exclusive haven all to yourselves!

Watery relaxation comes in the form of the indoor hydrotherapy tub for two. Plunge into the bubbly water, then hit the sauna, before an invigorating Jacuzzi shower to refresh you.

Find tranquility alfresco in the outdoor hot tub, before indulging in a massage, facial or beauty treat. Using top-notch spa brand GAIA, the rituals here are designed to rebalance and refresh both body and mind, with Shellac manis and pedis providing the perfect finishing touch.

Furnished with cushions, blankets and fresh flowers, it looks out across the lawn from under the trees. It seats up to four people and there’s a small extra charge. Just remember it needs to be booked in advance.

Pampering in the PM? Everything stops for afternoon tea at The Eastbury. Its indulgent treat is impeccably served and features diddy sandwiches, warm scones, lashings of cream and sensational mini cakes.
