About
Great food, great whisky, great views - and one glorious spa named one of Scotland’s best by Condé Nast Traveller. Expect all the above (plus some highly Instagrammable interiors) at the spectacular Marine Troon. A landmark hotel rising from the breathtaking South Ayrshire coastline like a film set, it lets you unwind in pure luxury.
A big draw for golf lovers, this 130-year-old Scottish sanctuary perches beside one of the world’s most famous golf courses. Home of the Open, Royal Troon is so close that you can see all the action on the first and 17th without setting foot on a fairway. If you prefer to play, the 4,000 square-foot putting green lets you put in some practice right next to the prestigious course.
Not too fussed about Scotland’s national game? Luckily, Marine Troon’s luxe leisure facilities are more than up to par. The indoor pool comes complete with bubbling hot tub, sauna and steam room - and soothing coastal views from floor-to-ceiling windows. The gym and fitness studio feature Peloton bikes, yoga classes and top-of-the-range kit. There’s even a full-sized squash court. Treatments come via organic brand Ishga, using sustainably harvested seaweed from the Hebridean islands.
The picture-perfect seaside town of Troon is an easy stroll away. A popular holiday resort overlooking the Isle of Arran, Troon is full of characterful independent shops. Stop by the bustling harbour, or indulge in a dram at The Jar, a specialist whisky shop home to 300 single-malts. Hop on the ferry and visit Arran for the day - the island is home to wildlife and castles. The nearby town of Irvine has the interactive Scottish Maritime Museum, or head to the Bachelor’s Club in Tarbolton to learn more about the poet Robert Burns.
But chances are you won’t want to tear yourself away from all that’s on offer right here at Marine Troon. Fabulous interior design touches are waiting to be added to your Pinterest board, from the woven seagrass chandeliers to the intricate floral wallpapers. It’s all so inviting that you may wish to linger after your Marine Troon spa day. And, with the best of Scotland’s larder on offer at The Rabbit Restaurant, plus the chance to sip a Troon Old Fashioned at The Seal Bar, we don’t blame you for doing just that.

Time for your treatment? Pick from a menu of Ishga rituals. Sports lover? Challenge a friend to a friendly game of squash on the full-sized court, or practice your putting at the on-site putting green. If you’re still feeling competitive, head to the pool table. You may not burn that many calories, but it’s a fun activity while indulging in a cocktail or two.
Outdoorsy types will be heaven at Marine Troon. Just minutes from the beach, with spectacular views of the Isle of Arran, it’s perfect for walkers and watersports. Trace the coastal paths surrounding Marine Troon by bike - hotel guests enjoy complimentary rentals.
