There’s no gym at The Skin Co. Spa, but that doesn’t mean you should leave your fitness goals at home. 

From boutique gyms with quirky classes to something a bit more spit and sawdust, Spitalfields is full of fitness facilities, and many of them let you buy a day pass to use them. For day passes to Spitalfields’ gyms, you should expect to pay between £9 for basic options, up £25 for something top-of-the range.

For example, just a ten-minute walk from The Skin Co. Spa’s front door you’ll find Blockhouse Gym on Commercial Road. With an emphasis on weight-training, a day pass here costs £9, but it has everything you need to build some serious muscle.

Prefer a bit of extra motivation? Psycle Shoreditch is also a 10-minute walk away and offers Barre and spin-style fitness classes. A day pass here costs £25.

If walking’s more your style, there’s so much to see in the local area that there’s no excuse not to get your step count in for the day. Spitalfields is one of east London’s most vibrant areas. Historic houses sit next to contemporary street art, markets offer vintage treasures, and there’s always something new to see every time you visit.

Food is a quintessential part of any spa experience, whether you’re in the mood for healthy and wholesome or something a bit more indulgent. While The Skin Co. Spa doesn’t have a restaurant, you won’t go hungry (or thirsty) here. 

Spa packages include snacks and nibbles, organic coffee and tea and perhaps even a glass of fizz or two, served by your spa butler in the serene surroundings of the relaxation room. 

For something more substantial, Spitalfields won’t disappoint. This famous foodie paradise has streets lined with quirky independent restaurants, cafes and food stalls. A melting pot of cultures and flavours, food here reflects the diverse community that has called the neighbourhood home over the years.

You can find everything from classic British pub grub and world-renowned restaurants, to exotic global fare at the street food stalls. Old Spitalfields Market, Brick Lane Market and Boxpark (where vendors sell their wares out of shipping containers) draw crowds of hungry visitors every week.

There’s no swimming pool at The Skin Co. Spa, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t pack your cossie! Time in the warm and toasty hot tub is included with your pamper packages, and you’ll have it all to yourselves for the time you’ve booked.

Can’t live without your laps? Just under a mile away you’ll find Britannia Leisure Centre, which has a 25m six-lane main pool and a 20m training pool.

No, there’s no accommodation on offer at this beautifully boutique day spa. But Spitalfields is a bustling London neighbourhood with a number of tourist attractions. As such, you can take your pick from a number of hotels, from the budget to the bank-breaking, close by. 

Yes, there are double treatment rooms where you can enjoy facials, massages, manicures and pedicures together. Perfect for friends, mums and daughters or couples, they let you reconnect as you unwind.

You’ll find The Skin Co. Spa in vibrant Spitalfields, the heart of London’s East End, and just a stone's throw away from the iconic Brick Lane. Spitalfields is known for being a hub of creativity and for its warren of hipster bars, eateries and boutiques. 

Visit Boxpark for some street food, shop at Old Spitalfields Market for vintage finds, or immerse yourself in blooms at the Columbia Road Flower Market.
