About
Getting away from all the noise isn’t always easy, of course, but when escape to the wonderful Thoresby Hall you’ll be unwinding in no time at all. This magnificent hotel is a former Victorian stately home full of heritage and charm, and it retains many of its original features. Located in Nottinghamshire and within easy reach of the whole of the East Midlands, it really is a must-visit.
The spa here is designed for lovers of luxury to simply float away on a cloud of contentment. There are treatments aplenty to be had here, and the atmosphere is geared towards forgetting all about the outside world for a while.
Overnight stays at Thoresby Hall are always blissful, and there’s a fantastic choice of rooms and suites to choose from. More than 50 of them are to be found in the original building, and more than 160 are in the stylish new building, which is connected to the main house by a covered link bridge.

There are superb shopping opportunities in Sheffield and Nottingham, and plenty of history at the likes of Nottingham Castle, Newstead Abbey and the National Civil War Centre in Newark.

The booking experience was very sub standard - the times were changed from the initial emails from SpaSeekers to the subsequent emails from Thoresby Hall. This was then rectified by email to Thoresby Hall but when I arrived for afternoon tea I was still down at the wrong time and not with my friends as requested. This didn't cause a problem. We were down for afternoon tea at 1.30pm but it took around 50 mins before the tea was served which meant we had little time to eat it before the first waved bed massage was booked. The staff serving the afternoon tea were not very friendly (unlike our experience about 5 weeks earlier). The staff at the spa were lovely and the waved bed massage was very enjoyable.

The spa at Thoresby was lovely. Small, just a pool, sauna and steam room, but all very calm and relaxing and felt good value for money. The whole area felt peaceful, it wasn't busy when we went even though it was a Friday morning and the car park and hotel seemed busy. The pool is lovely with beds to relax on round the side. Had a wave bed massage which was great- really powerful jets, felt as good as a therapist massage, I liked having control of the intensity and the focus of the massage.

Lovely morning using the spa facilities. The wave bed was really good, enjoyed this experience and the massage. Downside was the Jacuzzi water temperature was cold so not pleasant to sit in and the changing rooms could do with a makeover, the hairdryers were also broken .
